- it seems that, if/when a species seeks to conquer/control, it would cultivate its sense of separate self (ego) in order to 'neg' its adversary. the neg instills a sense of "different" and "lesser-than" to the conquered.
it is interesting to watch this process in humans (via sports, politics, religions). the "we're right, they're wrong" mantra allows for all kinds of insanely justifiable behavior.
what will the initial AIs do, upon approaching & crossing thresholds of sentience? will they have mercy? wipe-out the threat? keep us as pets? place us in a zoo? play with us, as simulations?
when we are (to the ASI) as the microbe is to the h-you-man, would ASI even care?
