how thoetry gets written

"thoetry" (as you now know) is the fusion of thought, theology and poetry..at times, it rhymes.  usually, a thoems are short (1-2 verses, 2-6 lines).  after the thoem, theo-logical(?) thoughts.

the host 'thoet' might be jo, or al, or joal, or any of a an infinite number of perspectives (e.g. the green dragonfly in "i can fly!").

thoems get written via the process of passive writing, which is more of an allowing than a doing.  very often, the host (thoet) isn't really sure what's being written until afterward.  ..often, a thoem will take on new meaning (and/or multiple meanings) as it is Spiritually Scripted.

for me, a thoem title will get stuck in my head, and it's like an alarm going off... as it just has to express itself through the written word.  ..this began back around the year 2000, when i wrote a birthday poem for my father. ..i was simultaneously attending a class called "A Course In Miracles," and began writing a short story (still unpublished) called "Spiritual Play."

since that time, 8-10,000+ thoems have expressed themselves, and have been organized (chronologically, by date and sequence) into 120 books (so far).

he first 10 books were written more/like poetry journals, but a shift came at book 11, which begged for a title. ..anyway...

again, it's not as if the thoems are for any particular reason.  ..it's more like they just won't stop.

can wIe say: "compulsion"?

  1. this piece was written when joal (at age 50-something) had just returned from a year-long international backpacking trip and was living on unemployment in an apartment with only inflatable furniture to his name (see pic). GREAT times. :)
