sandbox monkeys (chattering and playing with their toys)
sandbox monkeys (animals) just teenage girls & boys
oblivious to anything outside their box of sand
while here i sit (up-on park bench) pretending i’m a man

·       i think “how could they not know/care about the impending gloom & doom?”
 
truth is, i thoroughly enjoyed life as a sandbox monkey. as a man, now, i can watch. i can live vicariously, at times. i can re-member.
 
we should all be lucky enough to play the glorious role… of sandbox monkey.*
