i’m dying to get out of here, get out of here alive

· dying... will be a release.
· dying… without going through hell in
life… will be getting out of here, alive.
in the u.s.a. (and even globally, now), social media has
provided the angry psycho with a mechanism to destroy lives and reputations,
anonymously. because of this, teachers,
leaders, and potential lovers live in fear.
they are not honest (or even confrontational) with someone who is a
member of a protected group.
as a faculty member, i can say that my students own me. if they complain, i’m on trial. if a student gets angry because i’m
unreasonable (e.g. i expect him/her to do homework, or i referred to him/her as
a he or she instead of a they…) s/he can crush my life on rateyourprofessor.com and complain to my dean with two-presses of a cell-phone thumb.
retirement (flying under the radar, autonomy, solitude,
absence of fame)… is a state of survival for the modern man. dying (without being put through hell) will
be like getting out of here, alive.
the author of this thoem (former alpha bee) understands that
leaving his very home-life/hive may be his only path to freedom.
