there are a lot of great minds presently contemplating the who, what, when, where, why & how of a 'Singularity'.  a few things are certain:

1. men will continue the technological arms race, which appears to be advancing exponentially.

2. the only things that might stop (or slow) the advancement appear to be just as horrifying of the worst-case ASI scenarios.

3. in all of the doomsday scenarios, there will be noplace to run and noplace to hide.

the proverbial question, of course, is "what do we do, now?" 

• experience beauty, love, nature, goodness, etc. now.
• go to the move-ies (we're already there, and have been... since birth).
• watch the show:
• get caught-up in the show (experience the chills & spills), or
• watch the show as an observer (oooOOOooo... ahhhhhhhh), or 
• both.

i imagine we could also choose to deny that the show is happening (stay ignorant to it) and deal with the outcomes as they arise... but that would be a variation of getting caught-up in it.
