we sleep in separate rooms
we co-exist in bitterness and dry, unspoken, doom

we promote the façade
we post the holiday
we smile in front of others while we live our lives in hate

·       ‘hate’ is a bit strong, but it rhymed. 😊
·       most of those in sexless, roommate marriages don’t necessarily hate each other, but they surely don’t feel the same way as the first “i love you.”
