every now and again, i'm woken-up by (what appears to sound like) 3 distinct 'knocks'. there have been times that i've actually gotten out of bed and checked the door to see if someone was there.
i live in a townhome, and i share a wall on both sides. chat-gpt says that it could be pipe noises or house noises, but it sounds like three distinct knocks. the internet describes several myths about "spirits making contact" (and other superstitious beliefs).
the next time that i see my next-door neighbor, i'm going to ask her if she ever hears the knocking.
