·       be-cause prognosticating assumes that we actually know something about what we are prognosticating about.

·       the truth is… we are (most likely) just bullshitting.
 
humans, being… seem to favor (uh) thinking that we are right.  this is probably an outcropping of natural selection (since, after all, the person who was right about the tiger in the bushes was probably more likely to survive the tiger in the bushes).  

the ones who were wrong about the tiger in the bushes were less likely to re-produce.  

thank goodness.

 
the “gnostic” gospels are simply a product of human bullshitters who (for a number of reasons) would like you to believe that they …are right.
