the turning of the tassel

    the "turning of the tassel" should be a climax:

a celebration!

a beginning and an ending!

joyful!  collaborative!!  connecting!!!

a re-joy-sing of a long-term goal, achieved.

·       at today’s graduation, however, over 80% of the graduates left (they just walked-off after walking the stage) prior to the turning of the tassel.  they just left.

·       one might argue about the ‘whys’ (“it was hot.”  “it was too long.”  “i was uncomfortable.” “waaaaaaaaaa!”), but one thing is for sure: the graduates did not respect the symbology of the turning of the tassel.  it (in a sense) was all about them (but in a sense, it wasn't).
