* negotiated commitment? dooooooon't.

 while a man can commit to great sex, and
while great sex can facilitate a commitment,
a negotiated commitment will not facilitate great sex.

a negotiated commitment is akin to a quid-pro-quo transaction which is a stepping stone to further commitment, less freedom, and worse sex.  the reasons?

  • reduced competition anxiety
  • increased familiarity
  • lack of variety, newness
  • relationship stuff (finances, children, cohabitation, marriage)

in 2025, the absolute worst thing a high-testosterone, heterosexual man could do is agree to a commitment with a woman who has any of the red flags described in richard cooper's the unplugged alpha

if the male of the species has an instinct to spread his exponential seeds, and if the female of the species has the instinct to limit exposure of her limited seeds to the best man... then negotiated 'commitment' (as it is currently constructed) is a win for a woman and a loss for a man.

in the "divorced with kids" end, everybody loses.
