·       because, once someone implies that they “love” you, and once that very same person can show contempt, loathing, criticism, disdain, poutiness, anger, pulling-away, endless testing, etc., etc., etc., you learn that “forever” (really) means:

“this is how i am feeling at this moment...

while i’m getting everything that i want.”
