1.     Any being (from ant, to hummingbird, to human) that has a sense of separate self (an ego) will look out after itself.  It will prioritize itself and its family.  It will “protect the nest.”

2.     For human beings, this involves survival (air, water, food), safety/security, and the means for more survival (which I’ll call ‘thrival’).  More territory, more power, and, in today’s world, more money.
 

Want the real truth? Follow the money trail.

 
3.     This may seem arbitrary, but people complain.  Nowadays, a complainer can easily get her 15 minutes of fame on television & social media.  She can broadcast her complaint to the world!
    a.     I’m on a Townhome Association Board (at the moment), and we had a woman complain (on local television) after the Board made a decision that (effectively) was going to protect the woman’s home from falling down a hill.
    b.     She didn’t sue (yet), but any ambulance-chasing lawyer could have convinced her to (and may still do so)!

4.     Lawmakers make laws.  Being self-serving, they make laws that benefit themselves & their nest.  They get paid by lobbyists, who get paid by billionaires, who want to protect their own nests.

5.     “You don’t pay unless we win” is a common advertising phrase among savvy lawyers who contract for the lion’s share of the winnings.

6.     Math: if you win a million dollars, yet your case-lawyer charges you a million dollars… uh… you might have won the case, but you didn’t, uh, ‘win.’  The lawyer won.

7.     I served (dutifully) on a Townhome Association Board, until the “Corporate Transparency Act” required that I submit basic information (e.g. driver’s license info). 
    a.     I (of course) asked “Why?” and then I read the document, which noted that the government needed the information for those who made decisions that affected re$ource$.
    b.     My military mind said: “Hmmmmm.  They want to fix responsibility.  They want to know who gets sued when there is a complaint.”

8.     In law, a complainer (the plaintiff) brings a complaint against someone who must then defend against said complaint: the defendant.

9.     When I refused to comply with the Act described in # 7, above, our Management Company was quick to point out that there is “nothing to worry about, because Board Members are insured.”

10.  Question: How to insurance companies make $$$?  By not paying, on claims.  Ask real people – after a hurricane or other disaster.  “Insurance” is (often) a house of cards.

11.  I asked a paralegal friend about lawsuits against Homeowners Association Boards, and the possibility of getting sued as an “insured” Board member, and she said “The Board’s insurance will appoint you a lawyer, but you’ll still be getting sued.”
 
So I thought:
 

“Hmmmmm, as an unpaid, hard-working volunteer who cares about my community,

I can be part of a Homeowner’s Board that makes a decision that could inspire

a homeowner to file a lawsuit against the Board.

The Board’s insurance company will appoint a lawyer, who will get paid. 

What happens when the money runs out? 

What happens when opposing lawyers do what opposing lawyers do –

which is drag-out the case so that they make more and more and more money? 

More importantly, when the money is gone,

how much is the Board’s insurance company’s lawyer going to care about me?”

 
My deduction was clear:
 
If some moron gets an intere$ted lawyer to sue the Board, and when lawyers do what lawyers do and the money runs-out, I (as a Board Member) will be liable – even if I voted against the decision that led to the lawsuit in the first place!
 
I (of course) have refused to comply with our Management Company’s request that I provide information as required by the Corporate Transparency Act.  The Management Company has let me know that, if I do not comply, I can no-longer serve on the Board.
 
Wait a minute: If (as a volunteer who gives freely of his hard-earned time) I refuse to put myself in a position of being sued by a neighbor for working in the best interests of that neighbor… I will no longer be allowed to do her the favor of serving/volunteering???
 
My response: “Ok.”

it is inexplicable (to me), that almost one in every two usa citizens will actually vote for x, but i do understand:

• the evangelicals, and the pro-life stance (dems have not done a good job explaining that no one, and i mean no one -- is "pro" abortion).
• the super-rich (that's obvious): they get richer, more powerful.  with all of that $$$, they can then buy news and commercials, furthering their agenda.
• fox news watchers: an opinion channel that spouts the most insidious of lies does indeed control the minds of those who respond to fear, hate, being and told what to think.
• the conspiracy-prone: let's face it, our government, with its secret-services and back-door deals, has left itself open to the thrival of conspiracy theory.
• the poor: some are just too uneducated and stupid to not fall for the bulls--t.
• rednecks: sooooo caught-up in the "proud to be an american" exclusionary doctrine, they believe the gun bullsh--t and the immigration bulls--t.

no matter how the elections turns out, gerrymandering, fox, power, and red-blue bias will remain.  it's an ugly future, politics.

"freedom of speech" does not mean that a source that millions of people trust can hap-hazard-ly spew opinions and lies that divide a nation -- pitting brother-against-brother and neighbor-against-neighbor. 

one way that you can do so... is if you let people know at the beginning: "this is comedy" or "this is just my opinion" ...but you've got to say that, alongside of the spewing of your bulls--t.

* day 1 (supercleanse)

i've been cleansing, in a veganorganic manner, for the month of october.  what i've been doing is probably going to become a lifestyle change and a way of life:

1. vegan (and if it can't be vegan, make it organic)
2. alcohol-free
3. toxin-free
4. vegetable heavy
5. smoothies or breakfast, as part of a morning routine
6. NCA7, as part of a night routine

note: i have not held myself to the above guidelines strictly.  i've had drinking days (3-out-of-4 at the beach), Baileys in the coffee (once after that), and 2 glasses of wine (with dinner) once.  in each of the post-beach cases, i was "finishing-off" started bottles.

    i've had fried chicken (at ingles), wings, ribs, chicken salad, fries (at the beach), etc. -- all on a very limited basis.  i've done the "free samples" of chicken salad/chips and cheese at ingles.  i've had coffee with the whipped-cream creamer.  had a starbucks last tuesday, and a couple of watermelon jolly-ranchers. 

    so, this week, i plan on doing the unsustainable: above-and-beyond in every tracking category.  that means no toxins at all, and gym bouts daily, etc.  i want to see (1) if i can pull it off, (2) where the ultimate challenges are, and (3) the 7-day results.

 

on 1 october, i was over 213 lbs. and measured a 42-inch abdomen.  this morning, i weighed-in at 205.4, with a 40-inch abdomen.  i might actually gain weight this week, with mega-hydration and weight training, but want to see an abdomen measurement that is under 40 inches.

i want to be under 200 lbs. (average) and under 40 inches (average) by thanksgiving break.

...that it turns my stomach to watch interviews, debates, clips, etc.  it's disgusting.

 ...so it's been almost a month, into a 'cleanse' that was supposed to last a week.  i've had 3 drinking days at the beach that may have proved monu-mental in the journey to control.

at least for the moment, my desire for wellness is outscoring my thoughts of alcohol.  last night was the first night that i've been out with friends, not drinking.  i consumed water.  they were cool.

amazing!

more than a few times, along this journey, i've felt like i was in the zone: physically, mentally, etc.  i feel that way, today.

we do not (as a rule) love those who don’t love us.  “turning the other cheek” (while poetic) is probably not a good (practical) practice.  living things (and living [egoic] beings) will take advantage of situations where life’s betterment is simply ‘given’ to them.
 
i’ve learned this lesson several times, throughout life.  i have taken advantage of situations where i was given a free ride, and i’ve observed the behavior (in others).

 one of the best days of my life:

i walked her out into the back yard, and we kissed in the moonlight.

it was interesting… watching the nocturnal activities of humans, being at the trailer bar on topsail beach in north carolina.
 
what amazes me (most) is that fat, unattractive women can command a level of self-respect that far exceeds anything a man of her stature could ever imagine.
 
first of all: being that fat… how does she even wipe her ass well?  men think of this!  of course, men don’t care at 2 am, but (in other circumstances) men might consider this.  some men (men of quality) would.
 
second of all: she has all of the options.  with a “come here” of the finger, she can secure (just about) any guy.  if that fails, she’s got her #2 (her girlfriend) to eat her p---y and make her come (probably better than most of the guys that she would have seduced, anyway!).

sometimes, happiness can be found in the relief that something bad (uh) didn't happen.

example: i just searched my pants (which is happiness, in and of itself) for my credit cards... after a night out (last night).  i found one card, but not the second one.

of course, i searched everywhere, to no avail... and (eventually) determined that i'd have to go back to the bar and see if anyone had turned-in my lost card.  

i was already figuring-out when to call my bank, to declare the lost/stolen card, and then how i'd have to cancel (and re-assign) all of the monthly payments that i've set up with that card.  

damn!

and then... as i took another look at my stuff (from last night) i noticed that the 'lost' card was stuck (perfectly) to my other card!  it wasn't lost!

if everything was experienced as ‘present’ – it would be impossible to appreciate one thing more than another, which would make everything a flat-line (boring) endeavor.  we trick ourselves into masking (or wrapping) the present… so that we can experience the ecstasy of those momentary glimpses into our true, True nature:
 

the orgasm of a sunrise. 

the mouth-to-mouth first kiss. 

the sting of the first sip of beer, or coffee, 

or (i imagine) the first drag of a cigarette. 

the g-forces associated with speeding through a curve in the road. 

lightning.  thunder.  surrender.  attraction. 

yearning.

we chase the now (well) Now!  the beauty of life is to forget that we are Now… so we can glimpse (and treasure) the Now.

ego is not something to ‘transcend’.  ego is that which allows the All to “be” and “know” and “feel” (and to taste 😊) and to experience HE/rself.

the fantasticality of life is that we can pre/tend (for a moment), we can play (for a time), we can go to the move-ies, we can watch/direct/act in (and, of course, star in)… our own Play. 
 
we can for-get… in order to For-Give our ‘selves’ – so as Oneness can experience He/rself (from a perspective) of separation.
