after all these years, it is still startlingly amazing that u.s.a. citizens can be baited into black-white (us-them, democrat-republican, fox-msnbc) mindsets that (due to confirmation bias) do not allow for objectivity.

people can watch the exact same 'masters' (debating), yet see two completely different results... reinforced by their biased tv personalities (who, truth be told, care about the click and not the truth).
