i want the end [i]

arthritis in fingers
lower back (in pain)
one too many beers… again, again, again
as the time approaches there is no need to pretend
can’t get too much older, no, i want (i want the end)

·       and so do a lot of people.  the old, the dis-eased, the dis-illusioned, the poor, the sickly, and (most of all) those who know that they have absolutely no say in what happens next.

there comes a time (in every Play) when the curtain needs to close… so it can open (On[e]ce again).
