* ambiguity (a fish story)

a moment ago,
while watching a fishing video of a man catching a "huge, creek striper
...i projected myself into the fish:

  1. hitting the bait;
  2. getting hooked;
  3. fighting (for my life!);
  4. tiring-out;
  5. fighting (one... last... time).

all the while the  fisher-man was soooo excited about the hit, the fight, the "fat" striper.
the man was ecstatic

  then, of course, the netting, the admiration,
the presentation of the fish (to the camera)...

meanwhile... the fish is dying!
----------------------

don't get me wrong. not "holier than thou," here. i've fished, i've gushed (and i've felt the rush). i have, do, and probably will (continue to eat fish).

i'm (at this moment) a bit ambiguous.

the shift in perspective, however, is poignant -- when you imagine what it would be like to be hunted and baited by a Superior Intelligence (for sport? for food?) ...only to be tortured/captured and torn-away from everything that you thought you knew.

would the fish forgive?
would we?

below is an example.

as we (humans) feel superior (to the fish), how will a Super-intelligence feel/act... toward us?
